The kimono and yukata behind many of my pieces were handmade by my mother-in-law, with a level of craftsmanship I have always admired.

When I began working with them, I didn’t have a grand plan. I simply became excited by each garment and by the possibilities hidden within the fabric.

Taking them apart, stitch by stitch, became a journey of its own. With every seam I opened, beautiful expanses of fabric and individual details appeared - and I began imagining what they might become.

Rather than allowing these carefully made garments to remain tucked away and unseen, I wanted to give their beautiful textiles another life.

Today, I transform them into bags and accessories, choosing and positioning the fabric so that each pattern can tell its own story. No two bags are alike.

The original garments may have changed, but the craftsmanship behind them continues.
